This painting began with flowers but quickly became as much about movement as the blooms themselves. Loose layers of pink, lavender, blue and green rise from a tangle of darker stems and foliage, with marks allowed to overlap, disappear and reappear throughout the painting.
I wanted the flowers to feel as though they were growing rather than arranged — a little unruly, full of light and reaching upward.
Painted in acrylic on a 1.5" deep cradled board and finished in a black metal float frame. Ready to hang.
