Original Mobile Sculpture - Color Parade - Kinetic Mobile Artist
Every mobile in my Hand-Painted Series begins as an original painting, but this one feels especially playful to me.
I painted each element by hand on Evolon, an archival-quality non-woven textile that has become one of my favorite painting surfaces. Evolon is remarkably lightweight, strong, acid-free, and dimensionally stable, allowing the sculpture to respond to even the gentlest air currents. I love that movement becomes part of the artwork itself.
Each painted form began as part of an original acrylic painting before I carefully cut, balanced, and assembled the mobile by hand. Together, the colorful shapes seem to march across the room, each carrying its own personality while remaining part of the larger composition.
As the mobile slowly turns, the colors and relationships continually change. I never tire of watching new conversations appear between the painted pieces.
Because every painting is created entirely by hand, this mobile is truly one of a kind.
