Rhythms of Blue - An Art Mobile by Carolyn Margaret Weir

Blue has always had a way of slowing me down.

For this mobile, I painted each component by hand on Evolon, a lightweight archival-quality non-woven textile that allows the sculpture to respond beautifully to the faintest air currents. I love how effortlessly the painted forms drift and change throughout the day.

The blues, greens, violets, and touches of warm orange create a lively conversation between cool and warm colors, while the patterned surfaces reveal new details each time the sculpture turns.

Every mobile in my Hand-Painted Series begins as an original painting before I carefully cut, balance, and assemble it by hand. No two will ever be alike.
